Welcome Darryn Lee

This April, painter and offshore oil rig worker Darryn Lee comes to Svalbard to begin the first phase of a year long project capturing in paintings the working life of Mine 7, Norway's last operating coal mine, as the mine is shut down. Darryn is particularly suited to this task as he memorialized the workers and dismantlement of the Valhall drilling platform in Norway, which can be seen at the Norwegian Oil museum.
