Welcome Elisabeth Jarstø

Norwegian artist Elisabeth Jarstø will be working on her ongoing project, “Transformers” while in Svalbard. The art project TRANSFORMER is a long-term artistic research project where her aim for being in Svalbard is to study nature’s structure, how it is built and how it collapses and transforms into a new form or medium.  Among some of Jarstø’s artistic focal points of the project are the permafrost and changes in the landscape because of climate change. After her stay at the Spitsbergen Artists Residency she will be going on to a residency in Ny Ålesund.
