Welcome Lisa Vipola

We are pleased to welcome Swedish artist Lisa Vipola to the residency. Lisa uses her experience of chronic disease to question and critique hierarchies and societies fear of weakness. She brings that experience and those questions to bear on Svalbard, which seems the ultimate ableist society. She has also worked with indigenous shamen both in Brazil and Sweden exploring her own illness and the artwork of becoming a traditional healer.
